Scott Campbell
(b1971 )British (Scottish)

Scott Campbell studied at Glasgow School of Art and then Central St Martins, London. Scott was Master Printer at the famous Advanced Graphics in London, and is currently Master Printer at Glasgow Print Studio. He has exhibited regularly in the UK and USA.

Scott has been involved in collaborative projects with various exciting, innovative artists such as Irvin, Hoyland, Michael Craig-Martin and Opie. It is from these projects that he have developed an obsessive involvement with the screen-printing process, colour, transparency and surface.

Having printed for over fifteen years, his work evolves with no matrix, but with multi-layered surfaces blended to allow light and form to develop. The unpredictability of blending dictates how he approaches each piece. He strives to make each piece individual and perfect, which can be extremely challenging.

Screenprinting is a medium that inspires me greatly, as much now as it did fifteen years ago, and I feel that in today’s climate it’s important to promote this medium as a vibrant and exciting process that can still produce innovative results.
